    MintMatch

A memory-style card game for Artists & Collectors

    Summary

“MintMatch” brings a fresh twist to memory games, integrating NFTs from Transient Labs’ ecosystem and offering multiple modes of play to keep users engaged. The game not only promotes artists by featuring their work but also incentivizes players with NFT rewards tied to their in-game performance. With modes like “Race Against the Clock” and “Competitive Multiplayer,” the game offers something for both solo players and those looking to compete, ensuring a diverse and long-lasting appeal within the onchain ecosystem.

    Incentives

    Revenue

On-chain interactions during gameplay (like point redemption for NFTs and power-up triggers) generate transactions, adding a revenue stream from the network.

    Sustainability

The inclusion of daily challenges, multiplayer modes, and artist collaborations ensures players are incentivized to return regularly, keeping the game active and engaging over time.

    Concept

“MintMatch” is a memory-style card game that taps into the Web3 ecosystem, using NFTs minted onchain. Players match artworks with their creators, combining art discovery with competitive gameplay. With multiple game modes, players can either race against the clock or compete head-to-head with others in a bid to match as many artists to their works as possible.

All the NFTs featured in the game come from collections minted on Transient Labs, offering players a fun way to engage with artists while accumulating points that can potentially be redeemed for exclusive NFT prizes contributed by those artists.

    Example Gameplay

A player flips over a card and reveals “TGIF Pepa,” an NFT artwork by Pepavaggio. Later, they flip a second card and find “All Time High,” another artwork by Pepavaggio from a different collection. Since both artworks are by Pepavaggio, it’s a match, and the player earns points.

    Game Mechanics

    Cards

Cards are laid out face-down, with each card representing either an NFT artwork or an artist’s name. All NFTs are pulled from the Transient Labs ecosystem.

    Matching

Players take turns flipping two cards. A match occurs when the player flips two cards featuring artworks by the same artist or an artist’s name paired with one of their works. Successful matches award points.

    Power-Up Mechanic

If a player owns an NFT from a participating artist, flipping one card by that artist can automatically reveal additional cards by the same artist, providing a strategic advantage.

    Points System

Points are accumulated through matches and can be redeemed for special NFT rewards contributed by artists.

    Game Modes

    Race Against the Clock Mode

In this mode, players race to make as many matches as possible within a set time limit. Players can choose the duration of the timer (e.g., 1, 3, or 5 minutes), and their goal is to maximize the number of artist matches before time runs out.

    How it Works

The player sets a timer before starting the game.

    • The game begins, and the player flips cards to make matches until time expires.

    • The player’s score is based on how many correct matches they can make within the set time.

    • Power-ups linked to NFTs in the player’s wallet still apply in this mode, helping them reveal more cards quickly and make matches faster.

    Multiplayer Mode

In this mode, two players compete head-to-head on the same board, trying to match as many artist-artwork pairs as possible before their opponent does. As each player makes a match, those cards are removed from the board, leaving fewer cards for the other player to choose from.

    How it Works:

Players enter a multiplayer match where they compete against one another in real-time.

    • Both players flip cards and try to make matches, but if one player successfully matches two cards, those cards disappear from the board, making it harder for their opponent to find matches.

    • The player with the most matches when the board is cleared or the timer runs out wins the match.

    • Power-ups can give one player an advantage, making the competition even more intense.

    • NFT Rewards: Artists who opt into the game contribute exclusive NFTs that players can win by accumulating points. This not only offers a tangible reward for gameplay but also gives artists a chance to interact with their fans in a unique way.

    Value

“MintMatch” delivers significant value across the board:

    For Players

It offers a unique way to engage with NFT art and artists while adding a competitive and time-based element to the familiar memory game format. The point system and NFT rewards create tangible value for players, offering potential NFT prizes for skilled players.

    For Artists

The game gives artists an opportunity to contribute to an interactive experience, gaining exposure and direct engagement with players who can win exclusive artwork from them. Artists benefit by becoming more recognizable within the Transient Labs ecosystem and fostering a deeper connection with collectors and fans.

    For Transient Labs

The game drives more engagement with the platform, using NFTs minted through Transient Labs as integral parts of the game. It promotes on-chain interactions by integrating wallet-based mechanics and rewards, helping to generate transaction activity and foster ongoing engagement.

    Engagement

“MintMatch” encourages players to keep coming back through its variety of gameplay modes, collectible rewards, and artist engagement:

    Daily Challenges and Timed Matches

The “Race Against the Clock” mode provides daily challenges where players can set different time limits and try to beat their personal bests. This mode encourages repeat play as players challenge themselves to make as many matches as possible before time runs out.

    Competitive Multiplayer

By pitting players against one another in real-time, “Competitive Multiplayer” mode drives even more interaction, as players not only compete for matches but also try to outsmart their opponents to secure the most matches.

    Point-Based Rewards

Players can accumulate points and redeem them for exclusive NFTs from participating artists, incentivizing them to keep playing and interacting with new collections.

    Artist NFT Integration

Power-ups tied to owning NFTs give players added motivation to build their collections, with the gameplay rewarding those who have NFTs from participating artists in their wallet.

    Example Engagement Loop

    1. Players log in and choose to play either Race Against the Clock or Competitive Multiplayer mode.

    2. Players flip cards, matching artists with their works, and earn points for correct matches.

    3. Accumulated points can be redeemed for NFTs contributed by participating artists, creating a valuable reward system.

      • Owning specific NFTs unlocks power-ups, giving players advantages in future games.

    4. Daily challenges and multiplayer competition ensure players return regularly to play and compete.

    Visual Concept

Here’s a quick rundown of the user flow:

    1. Start: Players are presented with a grid of face-down cards, which represent either an NFT artwork or the artist’s name.

    2. Flip: Players flip two cards in an attempt to find a match.

      • Game Mode Mechanics: • In Race Against the Clock, the player tries to match as many cards as possible within the set time limit. • In Competitive Multiplayer, both players flip cards on the same board, and matches remove those cards from play for both players.

      • Power-Up Activation: If a player owns an NFT from a participating artist, flipping one card by that artist may trigger a power-up, such as revealing additional cards by the same artist.

      • Endgame: In Race Against the Clock, the player’s score is tallied when time runs out. In Competitive Multiplayer, the player with the most matches when the board is cleared or time expires wins the match.

All the NFTs featured in the game come from collections minted on Transient Labs, offering players a fun way to engage with artists while accumulating points that can potentially be redeemed for exclusive NFT prizes contributed by those artists.

Thank you, Scobel! Art Discovery is essential, especially for new artists, and people new to the space. Also have a dream of people being able to recognize our art in the wild—being able to see an artwork and know the artist’s name.
