ARTMATCH: Connect Artists with Collectors
CONCEPT
ArtMatch is a tinder-like web application that matches artists with collectors.
FUNCTIONALITY
Random artworks with only the image/video and title will be retrieved by major marketplaces through their APIs and presented to the user in form of swipeable cards.
Swipe left to dismiss, right to like. The algorithm will assign affinity points with liked artists (whose names are hidden to avoid biases), liked tags and similar artists liked by other users. The user can directly go to the marketplace page to purchase the artwork from the liked cards.
VALUE
This app solves 2 main problems: Art Browsing and Discoverability.
The user don’t have to go through hundreds of uninteresting works to find what they like. The algorithm will learn and present them directly, while giving them suggestions to expand their interests from time to time.
Artists have the problem of being a new name or not being relevant enough. By removing the name the bias is put in second place. Only after seeing the image you can discover who the artist is when you want to go for a purchase.
ENGAGEMENT
Chat in app with artists whose artworks a user liked: help to create a meaningful connection and relationship.
Suggest an artwork: send artworks you like to a friend.
Comment artworks that you like and people unsure about the work can read why you like it.
Attached you can see a proof of work prototype created with Cursor.
Thanks for the consideration!

Yup, this is a no brainer go to app to explore.
Count me in. Needs some extra levels to make it more interesting but couple brainstorms and we will have to filter out the best/first to implement imho.

would be cool to have a swipe up and mint function, so you don’t even have to leave the feed to collect.

Absolutely agree. User interaction tbd but need to understand if marketplaces APIs allow for minting calls.

I really like this approach to art introduction. It would be great to have categorized filters when scrolling, so collectors can easily find specific types of art like AI pieces, generative works, hand drawn, or PFPs. This could also present an opportunity for localized viewing—which would be fantastic at events for discovering and meeting artists in person.

Filters or tags will also help the algo in suggesting new associated art pieces to users!
